Children’s Bookroom: SUMMER READING PROGRAMS

This summer, continue to encourage your child to read during the school break by enrolling them in a summer reading program. There are many incentives,  including freebies! Register your child for a  summer reading program and take advantage of the activities and events that will keep your kids busy. Some summer program activities and events may include free movies, story time, arts and crafts, teen book clubs, and writing programs.

Check Online or visit your Local Public Library Summer Reading Program and Public Library: Promoting Public Local Libraries

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Triathlon: Provides a free book to each child who completes 3 reading triathlon activities.

Books-A-Million Summer Reading Program: Receive a free Maze Runner series water bottle to each child who read 4 books from their reading challenge, fill out a journal form to show which ones they read, and return it to any Books-A-Million store.

Chuck E. Cheese’s Summer Reading Program: Earn free 10 Chuck E. Cheese tokens for reading each day for 2 weeks.

Scholastic Summer Reading Program: Earn rewards by reading, taking weekly challenges, and going online to record the minutes read.

Summer Book Recommendation: House Arrest by K. A. Holt (Interest Level Grades 3-6)
